Hey Louen- Great to have you in the Vi Community!

We don't have training plans in the app just yet BUT we have just started to roll out our first version of training plans via email and I think this will be just the thing to get you started. Can you send me your Vi account email address to community@life-beam.com? I'd be happy to push you your own personalized training plan before the full release! I'll also be available to answer any other questions you have in order for you to have a great first experience with Vi.

We also don't have interval training available yet but it is at the top of our list of priorities for next year. To give you an idea of how we'll work toward supporting intervals – I'm giving you as much context as possible so you understand what & why we're doing what we're doing:

    1) our immediate priority is stabilizing our (very very complex) software so that it's ready for supporting new types of runs and new models of content delivery. You'll notice that today's Vi is very REACTIVE, that she responds magically to what you're doing, but she's not nearly as PROACTIVE as a true trainer ought to be. So making Vi ready for proactive training is our top objective: updating our entire vocal engine so Vi can actually coach you through different kinds of workouts (fartlek runs, tempo runs, intervals, long runs, etc) that are appropriate for your goals and abilities. There are huge systems-level complexities to making this happen, since we're talking about a foundational change to how our entire software is architected. Right now, we give users the option to "pick your own" workout with customizable distances and time limits. On top of that, users pick their own goals, and everyone is at a different skill level. So we've learned that trying to write content and deliver it to every possible permutation of user is an insanely challenging endeavor. Thankfully, we've blueprinted a great solution that simply needs time to come to fruition, and we're seeing potential to get this ready for all of you in the first quarters of next year. I'll spare you the technicalities, just know that we'll give you something amazing and unprecedented when we're ready, and fans of the walk-run method will get some love. You WILL get a mix of run types, you WILL get awesome intervals training experiences that are expertly choreographed, and you'll also get the real-time magic of Vi feeding back to you as you tackle each interval, speed play, power run, etc.

    2) As we approach Winter in the northern hemisphere, one of our top objectives is getting Vi to deliver value to you for indoor activities. Treadmill is a key objective, and we will release as an early "v1" feature in this upcoming release. Immediately following that, we'll work on improving Treadmill speed & distance detection, and we'll also add a versatile cardio-training mode that's extremely flexible and great for using on any run / gym / home-workout activity. This new mode will present a way for all of you interval-runners to start using Vi to do interval / speed-play runs in the shorter term, without causing her to say dumb things about your pace being inconsistent. It's a step toward the true intervals experience you desire.

So the conclusion is that meanwhile, you implement the new features, the idea is to use another software to do the training and use Vi just to track the stats

I'm going to send you an email for this

    Kind regards!

Hey! Not exactly :) If you want me to walk you through the multiple features Vi has let me know! I've sent your email to the person who owns training plans and you should receive your plan or should've received the plan by now. Thanks!

I am a brand new to running “runner” and wonder how to get the learn to run part to begin learning how to train as per the discussion above. Can you provide me with directions if it is within the app or send me an email with a beginner training plan. I started with the couch to 5K app as well, but the. Decided to invest in Vi after researching the long term benefits of having Vi!
